“Therapy is often a matter of tipping the first domino"

Milton H Erickson

There are a number of myths surrounding the practice of hypnotherapy; for example, many believe they will be “under control” of the therapist, or be made to “do something against their will”. This will never happen with a responsible clinical Hypnotherapist. In fact hypnosis is a natural state of mind which we all experience in every day life.

For example, you may become completely engrossed in a book, film or television programme and lose all track of time. If you drive a car then I am sure you will have had experience of arriving at your destination with no memory of part or even the whole route. All hypnosis does is extend the time when you are in this natural mind state enabling us to focus unhindered on our inner feelings.

Who can benefit from Clinical Hypnotherapy?

Clinical Hypnotherapy cannot claim to be the answer to all problems and gives no guarantees as so much depends on each individual.

It has, however, been widely acclaimed for helping people who wish to break habits and for the enhancement of human potential in areas such as sport performance, accelerated learning and medically unexplained infertility.

At another level hypnosis has helped people who suffer, from amongst other things, panic attacks, phobias, problems with confidence and relationship difficulties.
